What is Grammarly and why you should download this tool?!

Grammarly is a tool to help you become a better writer, checking for both spelling and grammar errors. It works directly on the Internet and in your Microsoft Office programs.
If you spend a lot of time writing on the computer then you may probably wish you could have a personal proofreader to help you. While no tool will be the same as having a human proofreader, Grammarly will save you from making embarrassing errors.
I have my lovely mom proofreading my blog posts but Grammarly has taken my writing to a whole new level. All my misspells are checked and corrected on the spot.
The best part of it: there is a Free version!
You can sign in and download it here: Grammarly Free version.
This app works as an extension checking your writing on the web, but it can also work within Microsoft Office products such as Word, and even on your mobile device. Know that it will go beyond the typical simple spell check if you take the Premium version.
Grammarly will become your personal writing assistant, checking grammar and misspellings. It will also help you
I am going to explain why this app is so useful, the differences between the free and premium version, and why I love using Grammarly.
Why you need Grammarly
Whether you are a student, applying for a job, have a 9-5 job, are a freelancer, are a blogger, or you are simply trying to build your own business, Grammarly is the app you need.
Work & typing skills
You can be conscientious as hell, typing mistakes are just around the corner. Think about it, the office email with a terrible grammar or just bad typing mistakes using the wrong word, like “your” instead of “you’re”. It can hurt to read it and it’s extremely embarrassing if you’re the one who sent the email.
Grammarly will make sure that this doesn’t happen. No more embarrassing moments when you realize you mistake after sending the email.
You can use Grammarly extension on the Web and in Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Outlook. Grammarly can be combined with the tool you use for sending email and writing letters.
As you may already know, the longer you work on a project the less likely you are to see spelling errors. A misspelling here and there in an email may be forgiven, but an error in a presentation, contract, or other work product may have much bigger consequences for your professional career or business.
Grammarly is there to point out and prevent those typing and grammatical errors on the spot, right when you are typing.
Improve your student grades
Being a student is all about writing. It takes time to find the subject, write about it, and, finally, proofread it so it is at its best when
Unlike some other tools, the Premium version of Grammarly not only catches mistakes, but it also explains it’s suggestions so you can learn and not make the same mistakes again.
When I was in school Microsoft Word’s spell and grammar checker was the only option to review my paper work, and while it would catch a simple misspelling or grammar error, it didn’t help me become a better writer.
This means as a student, you may become a better writer even when you aren’t using Grammarly. It will also help you provide a better work and improve your grades.
Freelance writing business
For freelance writers, writing well and proofreading correctly is essential. In fact, proofreading is a huge part of the work. The best proofreading comes always after taking a break from writing. The more we read the text, the less we see mistakes.
While working on a project, we don’t always have time to walk away from work and then come back to proofread. That is where having Grammarly is great, it helps to check your writing on the spot. No more time delays, all your documents are proofread while working on
Become a better Blogger
If you are a blogger or willing to become a blogger, you must know that there is so much content creation involved in blogging.
It’s not only a question of blog posts typing, but it’s also writing any kind of content such as freebies, image descriptions, pins creations, templates, courses, email marketing, social media marketing, etc. The list can go on and on…
When you are constantly creating content that will
Unfortunately, not all bloggers can afford to hire a writing assistant or a virtual assistant. That is when, once again, Grammarly is your best mate. The Free version goes a long way and the Premium version is a lot less expensive than a virtual assistant to check all your work.
What will Grammarly do for you
Grammarly checks your spelling, grammar, and even provides suggestions to improve your writing. But, of course, these checks will depend on if you are using the Free or the Premium version.
Grammarly for Free will check for critical mistakes, but not only:

- Punctuation check
- Shows synonyms by double-clicking on a word when typing
- Shows definitions by double-clicking on a word when reading
- You can choose in which English you are writing
Grammarly Premium, the paid version, does more than just check for critical errors, it will also help you with:
- Advanced check for grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Inconsistent writing style
- Unclear sentence structure
- Overused words
- Ineffective vocabulary
- Wordiness
- Hedging language
- Impoliteness
- Insensitive or non-inclusive language
- Inappropriate tone or formality level
- Plagiarism
How does Grammarly work
First, you need to sign in, then you’ll see your Grammarly dashboard. After that, you will have to download the apps on your computer. There are three differents apps you can use on your computer:
- The Grammarly browser extension on your Internet browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Internet Explorer). It will check any writing you do online.
- The Microsoft Office extension for Word and Outlook.
- The Windows app for all documents within Windows.
You can also upload files directly in your dashboard, to have them proofread without downloading an app on your computer.
You have the choice and that’s great!
What I love about it
When I started blogging, my mom was my proofreader. She is currently working and unfortunately for me, can’t proofread on the spot.
After I downloaded the free extension on my browser, I felt much more confident with my writing and publishing my content.
It is truly a gain of time. I can spend more of my precious time creating than proofreading, again and again, my content.
You should give a try to Grammarly, it’s FREE!
And if you’re happy with it and need more, go for the Premium version.
